The cuff, by hand.

The machine does the long seams. The hands do the places you will touch: the cuff of lace on a blazer sleeve, the button at the nape, the sequin that catches the light at dinner.

A thimble, black thread, one stitch at a time. It is slow, and it is the part people notice without knowing why.

Every cuff in the first run is finished this way.
